It was truly enjoyable to interview Crystal Hana Kim for BOOK’D. She shares the brilliant short story writer whose work she forces all her friends to read, some of her favorite recently released books and her “loud” reading habits. In addition, she shares a book that made her want to take her writing more seriously, her thoughts on book clubs and her extensive TBR.
IF YOU LEAVE ME is an eye-Crystal Hana Kim’s IF YOU LEAVE ME is an eye-opening, engulfing and heartbreaking exploration of what love means, what war does and what womanhood can feel like.
I love audiobooks and I cannot lie. Lately, they’ve been my go-to. It just feels so luxurious to have a voice actor narrate a book to you when you’re too tired to read, too busy to sit down for an hour or just plain lazy. These are books that are narrated excellently and better enjoyed on audio than as a hardcopy or ebook (in my opinion).
If you like books with simple language, insightful commentary about life and complex characters, read WHAT WE WERE PROMISED. A compelling, sensitive and thoughtful debut that is sure to move you, I highly recommend this novel!
The Reading Women Podcast is one of my favorite literary podcasts. They’ve interviewed so many female authors, including Min Jin Lee, Lucy Tan, and Crystal Hana Kim. These two ladies are constantly working hard to get more people into reading women…
